Vintage Dobbs / Roger Peet Hat Box

Dobbs was a prominent American hatmaker, and Rogers Peet was a well-known New York menswear retailer; examples of Dobbs hats sold through Rogers Peet are documented from at least the 1930s–40s.

Your box has strong decorative appeal because of the black ground, gold lettering, crest, and the large “ROGERS PEET” branding. The lid does show edge loss and surface wear, so I would call the condition good vintage condition with age-related wear, not excellent.
