Quiet Structure - Chromatic Dwellings No. 12
A study in proportion, color, and restraint, Quiet Structure reduces the familiar house form to its most elemental geometry. The saturated violet plinth creates a stage-like foundation for the compact dwelling above, while the muted olive roof and deep blue end planes introduce subtle shifts in tone and atmosphere.
Minimal yet highly intentional, the piece carries a meditative quality — somewhere between architectural model, sculptural object, and color field study. The contrast between the expansive base and the modest structure creates a striking sense of scale and stillness.
Part sculpture, part painting, and part architectural object, each work in Stanton Sears’ Chromatic Dwellings series is individually constructed and painted by hand.
