Passage House - Chromatic Dwellings No. 14
Minimal in form yet quietly expressive, Passage House explores ideas of shelter, scale, and interior space through a simplified architectural structure. The soft periwinkle-blue exterior creates a calm, almost meditative presence, interrupted only by a small companion form and a carved opening that invites the viewer inward.
Set atop a warm wood plinth, the piece balances precision with intimacy — part sculpture, part architectural study, and part color meditation. The subtle contrast between the quiet exterior and the hidden interior passage gives the work an understated emotional pull.
Part sculpture, part painting, and part architectural object, each work in Stanton Sears’ Chromatic Dwellings series is individually constructed and painted by hand.
