De Selby (Diane Edith, shortened) is a painter who has lived in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky for most of her life. After formal education (BA, MA: studio art), she continued her studies with research, painting, workshops, and life experience. She managed her own needlework publishing business that distributed her designs both domestically and internationally, sold the business and then lived in Wales where she welcomed many U.S. visitors to what her husband, Greg, referred to as "De's Make Your Own Darned Bed and Breakfast". During her time in Wales and for several years after, she freelanced for Lands' End, Better Homes and Gardens, The Longaberger Corporation, and special interest publications. She started painting full time while taking care of her dear demented mother Edith, and participates in LexArts projects including the Bourbon Barrel Walk, the Bookbench project, and the third Horsemania Project in Lexington, KY.
