Companion House - Chromatic Dwellings No. 20

Companion House explores the relationship between shelter, scale, and connection. A simplified dwelling form is paired with two smaller geometric elements positioned at its threshold, suggesting neighbors, family members, visitors, or the quiet exchanges that transform a structure into a home.

The composition relies on bold color relationships—cool turquoise and lavender set against vivid red and deep blue accents—to create visual energy within a remarkably simple arrangement. The smaller forms act as both architectural details and abstract figures, inviting multiple interpretations.

Part sculpture, part painting, and part architectural object, each work in Stanton Sears’ Chromatic Dwellings series is individually constructed and painted by hand.
