Ken Russack

Collection: Ken Russack

Ken Russack is a Vermont-based painter whose work reflects a deep appreciation for both the urban and pastoral landscape. He began painting early, studying under mentor Maynard Sandol, and continued his artistic training at Oswego State before stepping away from painting for several decades.

After relocating to Vermont and raising a family, Russack returned to painting with a renewed focus—drawn in particular to the immediacy and challenge of plein air work. Supported by a close circle of fellow artists, he developed a practice centered on observation, atmosphere, and the subtle complexities of place.

His work blends an impressionist sensibility with a touch of narrative influence, capturing the quiet character of Vermont and Maine landscapes as well as urban scenes. Now based in Burlington, Vermont, Russack continues to paint with a sense of curiosity and dedication, bringing a thoughtful and personal perspective to each composition.
